Geological Field Trip Training Course on Reservoir Formations in the Fars Region
A geological field trip training course on reservoir formations in the Fars region was conducted with the participation of experts from Petropars Group companies.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of Petropars Group, this four-day course, held from June 1st to 4th and led by Mostafa Saboohi, Head of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics of the Subsurface Engineering Management of Petropars Group, and guided by Alireza Piryaei, Head of Exploration Geology at the National Iranian Oil Company (Exploration Management), examined reservoir formations, analyzed sedimentary basins and their expansion, and the impact of these processes on studies and examinations of oil and gas fields in various areas of Fars Province.
Mostafa Saboohi, Head of Geology and Geophysics of Petropars Group, emphasized the importance of holding this course for experts related to the upstream oil and gas industry of Petropars Group. He stated that this course was held at this level for the first time in one of the most important points of the Zagros region and Fars Province.
The Head of Geology and Geophysics of Petropars Group added that during this training course, based on planned scheduling and considering the projects of Petropars Group, geological sections in Mount Mozaffari, Mount Surmeh, Khaneh Kat Anticline, and Mount Dalaneshin were visited, and relevant discussions and analyses were conducted.
He further highlighted that as Petropars Group operates in the exploration and production of onshore and offshore oil and gas fields, this course could significantly help in understanding reservoir formations, their behavior, and related processes, such as drilling, geology, geophysics, and reservoir studies.
Saboohi concluded by saying that since petroleum engineers deal with subsurface data, research on formations hosting large volumes of hydrocarbon reserves in oil and gas fields and examining these formations in outcrops can lead to more precise analysis and decision-making.
